Amalaki is the main ingredient in Zrii juice produced by a new network marketing company lead by Bill Farley. Amalaki is also known as Amla or Indian Gooseberry. Its biological name is Embilica officinalis. It is a fruit that comes from a small to medium sized deciduous tree of the same name. This seasonal fruit that ripens in the fall is round and light green to almost yellow in color. Amalaki looks like the common gooseberry found in America and Europe however they are produced by different plants. In fact amalaki became known as the Indian gooseberry simply because it looks like a gooseberry. The fruit has an astringent, bitter and sour taste and is difficult to eat raw in large quantities. Therefore it is best used in mildly processed forms such as in Zrii juice. Grown in India and Nepal due to suitable climatic conditions this tropical fruit is very sensitive to temperatures below 32 degrees. The tree can bear fruit for up to 70 years but does not bear any fruit in its first 3 years. In Hinduism, the Amalaki tree is sacred and it is fondly referred to as the nurse or mother for its healing properties. It is widely consumed in India and is not toxic.

The chemical components of Amalaki in Zrii juice include gibberellins, lupeol, flavonoids and polyphenols. Phyllantine, zeatin, alkaloids and several benzenoids are also present. Most importantly, amalaki contains a significant amount of Vitamin C. There is no better natural or more concentrated source of Vitamin C known to be in existence. One gram of Amalaki provides the vitamin C content of over 20 oranges or one amalaki fruit provides 3000mg of Vitamin C. In comparison, a cup of strawberries provides about 100mg of Vitamin C. Amalaki or Indian Gooseberry also has one of the other most powerful antioxidants known called superoxdide dismutase. Also found in its chemical components are tannins that produce the astringent taste. Tannin, an ingredient used in the processing of leather is also found in teas, wine and other berries. Tannins are also an especially powerful antioxidant.

Amalaki is a main ingredient in “rayasana” of Ayurvedic Medicine. “Rayasana” are rejuvenation and longevity tonics in this ancient form of healing and they are said to give a long life free of disease, a powerful memory, intelligence, youth and vitality. Amalaki is the main ingredient in Chyvan Prash an herbal jelly. This is the most useful and popular of the “rayasana” and is taken daily by all who can afford it in India especially if they are over the age of 40. People who start taking Chyvan Prash notice that their nutrient intake is vastly improved. For example people who’s hair fall out especially after shampooing have found that this Amalaki rich Ayurvedic supplement has allowed them to gain naturally thicker, healthier hair.

According to research scientists, amalaki, the main ingredient in Zrii juice contains a highly balanced range of antioxidants, phytonutrients and flavanoids. It is particularly effective for conditions of the blood, bones, liver and heart and also maintains new tissues. It is certain that by using Amalaki as the main ingredient in Zrii juice, the health benefits of this fruit will be made available to all.
