<p>Are you stressed at work? Do you ever feel like you are knocking your head against a brick wall as the amount of work you are expected to complete piles up? Maybe you have worked so hard the last few months to achieve your targets that you have not been able to spend time with your family and feel out of synch with family life?</p>

<p>Continued exposure to high work loads leaves you drained, frazzled and frustrated.</p>
<h2>Yoga</h2>
<p>Yoga students often ask me for easy yoga exercises they can discreetly do at their desk at work. They believe yoga brings a sense of relief and balance back into their hectic work schedule.</p>
<p>If you are new to yoga, try this sequence and see what a difference it makes to your energy levels. Hopefully, you will feel energised, alert and more able to focus as you work.</p>
<p>A Simple Yoga Sequence To Reduce Stress At Work</p>
<p>1. Inhale and as you exhale, slowly turn your head to look over your right shoulder. Keep your chin level. Inhale and as you exhale turn your head back to the centre. Repeat to your left shoulder. Repeat this sequence 3 &#8211; 5 times in each direction</p>
<p>2. Rest your hands on your thighs. Exhale. Slowly fold forward from your hips. Allow your hands to drop towards the floor and hang loosely. When you have stretched as far forward as you comfortably can, gently lower your head towards the floor and allow your back to round. Hold this position for 4- 7 deep breaths. Inhale as you lift your head a little and slowly come back up.</p>
<p>3. Sit near the edge of your chair. Feet flat on the floor. Hands resting on your lap. Lengthen your spine, slowly arch your back and lilt your head back. Relax and take three deep breathes. Slowly return body back to centre</p>
<p>4. Raise both arms above your head. Place your left hand on your right wrist. Gently stretch to the right. Keep your body strong and straight. Breathe into the stretch. Switch sides and repeat.</p>
<p>5. Rest your palms on your thighs. Close your eyes, relax your face, relax your shoulders. Breathe slowly in for a count of four. Exhale slowly for a count of four. Repeat this breathing practice 4-7 times and then slowly open your eyes and return to normal breathing.</p>
<p>Learning to cope with job-related stress is essential if you wish to be calm and focused at work.</p>

First and foremost you should try to consider why you are planning on entering the yoga lifestyle. Whether it was suggested to you from your doctor for medical treatment, or if it is a means for you to reconnect with a healthy lifestyle.</p>

<p>Just remember that you aren&#8217;t alone. Many people struggle with trying to find the right yoga class for them. Some can spent years jumping from class to class, type to type, or different yoga teachers before finding the right match. You may find yourself drawn to the names of each yoga class, often times witty and inspiring. However, I would suggest making your decision on more than just the location or name of your yoga class. Instead taking the time to sit down with each of the teachers, and getting a feel for their technique of teaching.</p>
<p>It may be helpful if you can find a teacher that will allow you to sit in on each type of class. This will give you a first-hand view of what would be expected of you during your yoga class. While some may promote the use of props, and focus on slow and controlled movements. Others may focus on spirituality, or exercise. All of which are beneficial to many different people in their walks of life. However, power-yoga may not be the best choice if you suffer from chronic back pain. For this reason, you should take care in choosing the right type of yoga.</p>
<p>Before we look into the different types of classes and what you can expect you should first remember that as with any exercise program; you should first consult with your doctor. This is especially true if you have any diagnosed health problems that reduce your range of motion.</p>
<p>Once you have begun to visit the many different yoga classes available in your area, you will find that there is a common denominator among them all. That of which is that they are focused on bringing oneness to one&#8217;s life. A unity between body, mind, and soul. Regardless of the fact that this oneness is all something we hold inside of ourselves on a daily basis. However, most people will find that it can be difficult to reach this place in our own selves without a little help.</p>

If you are a beginner, it is imperative to join a beginners Ashtanga class, so that you are able to learn at your own speed without posing an injury risk to yourself.</p>
<p>Along with Hatha and Ashtanga Viniyasa yoga&#8217;s you will find a few other choices to choose from. One of which being Sivananda yoga. Which is based around as little as twelve postures. One such posture sequence includes the sun salutation. Of which focuses on breathing and meditation. This is one of the most well-rounded yoga classes that can be found today. It is especially suitable for all levels of expertise, ages, and physical abilities. Making it one of the most family friendly forms of yoga available.</p>

This is particularly well suited for those with back-pain or any other severe or chronic pain. This form of yoga is also particularly suitable for seniors, as they practice with many different props to aid in their posture progression.</p>
<p>Remember, as with any new workout regiment that you should always know your own body&#8217;s limitation. This will help you to choose the right style of yoga class for you. There is no right or wrong answer, simply knowing what you can and cannot handle is key. Regardless of the class, you should become prepared once you have chosen the right type of yoga for you. Your yoga instructor will be able to give you a list of the items you will need, whether it be yoga mats, blocks, blankets, or any other prop. It is best to come prepared!</p>

<h2>Nutrition</h2>
<p>The first thing you can do to improve your nutrition is to understand what you are eating. Don&#8217;t change a thing, just read labels. The labels on the food you buy and consume.&nbsp; My recommendation is that you not buy anything in a box or a can. A second recommendation is to not eat anything you could not eat raw.&nbsp; Now meat was probably once eaten just that way and I would say fish, poultry and red meat should be eaten cooked to at least a 140 degree internal temperature.&nbsp; But, plants should be able to be eaten raw. If you can&#8217;t eat a plant food raw, I would eat it very sparingly. It falls into the same category with meat.</p>
<p>Number two, Educate yourself.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t allow yourself to assume anything.&nbsp; Learn about the digestion and absorption of food.&nbsp; What do you need to eat?&nbsp; How much?&nbsp; How often?&nbsp; Do you know the meaning of words like macro nutrient or micro nutrient?&nbsp; Visit books, websites and articles to learn more.&nbsp; There is a cost to knowledge &#8211; either you learn the language of food science and take the time to read and learn first hand or you hire someone to help you. That is another problem.</p>
<p>Number three, decide what you like and from that, what you should eat.&nbsp; There is nothing wrong with liking sweet tasting food. There is something wrong if that is all you want to eat.&nbsp; Figure out what is good for you that you like and that provides you with a great diet. Research various diets before you try one. Your diet is your eating plan for your life. What do you know about Macrobiotics, Vegetarian, Cleansing, Living foods and other diets. Learn basic nutrition information.</p>
<p>Once you have done that, you need to decide what you intend. Your intent is what you want to see happen over a period of time.&nbsp; Intentions are very big picture and are inspirational visions for your future life.&nbsp; What do you intend to happen with your eating plan?&nbsp; Once you know your intent, you can set some goals consistent with your intent. Along with goals you will need some action steps. Your Intention and your affirmation of your intent need to be written down and associated with a mind body practice. For instance, you might stand and while raising your arms overhead, you might repeat aloud your intent followed by your affirmation.</p>
